IT DON'T MEAN A THING IF IT AIN'T GOT THAT SWING!**
A party and fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee

**states, NOT the music, dance, or wife-swapping

Someday your kids will ask you, "Mommy," (or "Daddy" as the case may be) "what did you do help end the reign of George W. Bush?" It is an historic time, and push has come to shove. This party is more than just a fundraiser.

On October 7th, the fabulous and funky Vida in Dupont Circle will be transformed into the nexus for the recruiting and mobilization of an army of good Democrats, who will go forth from Washington and put their energies and talents to work in swing states, and in phone banks and general GOTV activities in the DC area.

Besides the standard drinking, dancing, and carousing, numerous organizations will be present, clipboards in hand, to sign you up for trips to the promised lands of West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Florida, or if you are lucky, Ohio. Give all you can, but more importantly, come and find out how to get involved. Remember, there is no such thing as an "armchair activist."

DEBATE WATCH PARTY

Please join the Vast Left Conspiracy crew, including ReDefeatBush, Women Against Bush, ActForLove.org and others on Friday, 10/8 at 8:30 p.m. for the second debate between Kerry and Bush.

We'll get the party started at 8:30 p.m. at Buffalo Billiards (1330 19th, near Dupont Circle). This event is free and open to everyone. Women Against Bush is bringing panties, ReDefeatBush is bringing condoms, and ActForLove.org is handing out "free love credits," so plan for an exciting night!

Virginians: A debate watch party closer to home will be held at Cap City Brewery (2700 South Quincy Street) in Shirlington, co-sponsored by the Virginia Grassroots Coalition and ReDefeatBush.

HIT THE TRAIL!

That's right, time to get outside the Beltway and talk to voters where it matters. Several different organizations are sponsoring GOTV efforts in nearby swing states. ProjectNEXT.org will be busing folks to West Virginia and ACT (ACTHere.com) is sending people to Ohio. In addition, there are many opportunities to volunteer in Virginia with the Virginia Grassroots Coalition. So get out of town this weekend and hit the campaign trail!
