Washington DC & Toronto, CA, December 22, 2004 – In an historic effort
aimed at promoting “international affairs,” ActForLove.org, a dating site for
activists, has joined forces with MarryAnAmerican.ca, a Canadian site launched
to give sensible Americans a means of escape from a second Bush term.
Under the arrangement, featured at www.ActForLove.org/ohcanada/ ,
MarryAnAmerican.ca will send its nearly 10,000 members to ActForLove.org, where
they will be given an opportunity to use the site for free, and meet and marry
extremely hot, politically sensible Americans for free.
“NAFLA” PACT: MOUNT A MOUNTIE! YANK A YANK!
“Thanks to this historic agreement, Americans now have the opportunity to
French kiss a French Canadian, nibble a Newfoundlaner, or even mount a Mountie
-- and do it all in the name of progressive politics,” said John Hlinko, founder
of ActForLove.org.
Under the arrangement, dubbed “N.A.F.L.A.” (North American Free Love
Agreement), the two groups hope to spur Canadian-American marriages. This will
give Americans the chance to escape Bush 2.0 or alternatively, the chance to
import more sensible voters to offset the red staters.
“We know that the current U.S. administration does not represent the values
of a great number of the American people,” said Joyce Byrne, founder of Marry An
American, and publisher of This Magazine. “We feel our progressive brothers and
sisters’ pain. And we feel it is time for Canadians to share the gift of
citizenship in this liberal utopia through the loving bond of politically
motivated matrimony. It’s the least we can do.”
“For years, Canada has provided us wonderful imports, ranging from
hydroelectric power, to ‘Kids in the Hall,’ to an entirely new variety of
bacon,” said Hlinko. “And now, through these marriages, we hope to import hordes
of new, sensible voters.”

ActForLove.org already has thousands of members, all helping to lay the

Marry An American is a project of THIS Magazine (www.thismagazine.ca), one of
Canada's longest-publishing alternative journals, described both as North
America’s best left-wing magazine and Canada’s most dangerous magazine. On the
weekend of October 16, a dozen hot single Canadian liberals with diverse skills
got together in a Toronto office (www.geekend.ca) and put together Marry An
American. Since then, the site has attracted nearly 1,000,000 visitors, and
signed up nearly 10,000 Canadians willing to offer their hearts – and the rest
of their bodies – to needy Americans.
